The mission of ISFA is to educate, promote and share the "Ways of the Spiritual Warrior" & "Spiritual Warrior Martial Arts" through the training in, and the experience of, the Traditional Indo-Malay 'Seni Silat Tuo Arts', with an especial concentration in the Martial Arts and Culture of the Minangkabau of Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia, known distinctly as 'Silek Tuo Minangkabau,' and collectively as 'Silat Tradisional'. The culture and traditions of Sumatra, Indonesia have forged a system of the martial arts training like none other. This system of the arts, referred to as ‘Silat Tradisional’, delivers a holistic & comprehensive spiritual martial arts curriculum that promotes self-discovery, develops sensitivity & awareness, and establishes a distinct self-protection & combative fighting prowess. That is why ‘Silat Tradisional’ is known worldwide as the ‘Martial Art for Spiritual Warriors,’ or Spiritual Warrior Martial Arts respectively.
